Etwas weniger bekannt sind seine Opern. Eigentlich schade, diese h\u00e4tten einiges zu bieten, wie die neue Produktion \u00abOrlando Paladino\u00bb der Freiburger Oper zeigt. Am Donnerstag feierte die Oper im Freiburger Equilibre Premiere.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Die Handlung des Werkes st\u00fctzt sich auf das Renaissance-Epos \u00abOrlando furioso\u00bb, das vor allem im Barock mehrfach vertont wurde. Der Ritter Orlando begehrt die K\u00f6nigin Angelica wie besessen. Aus Eifersucht trachtet er deren Liebhaber Medoro nach dem Leben. Der Heidenk\u00f6nig Rodomonte will die Liebe von Angelica und Medoro besch\u00fctzen. Gleichzeitig n\u00e4hern sich Angelicas Dienerin Eurilla und Orlandos ungehobelter Diener Pasquale an. Die Zauberin Alcina kommt den Liebenden zu Hilfe. Sie verwandelt Orlando zuerst in einen Stein. Sp\u00e4ter l\u00e4sst sie ihn im Fluss Lethe baden. Das Bad wirkt: Orlando ist von seiner Obsession geheilt. Angelica und Medoro sowie ihre Diener k\u00f6nnen heiraten.<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gelungene Inszenierung<\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abOrlando Paladino\u00bb \u00fcberzeugt besonders mit der fantasievollen Inszenierung. Regisseur <strong>C\u00e9dric Dorier<\/strong> schaffte den Spagat, das Thema aus der Renaissance in die Moderne zu \u00fcbertragen, ohne ihr ein gesuchtes Konzept \u00fcberzust\u00fclpen. Trotz Modernisierungen bleibt die zugrunde liegende Dreiecksgeschichte zwischen einer K\u00f6nigin, ihrem Liebhaber und einem eifers\u00fcchtigen Ritter erhalten.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dorier spielt mit Kitschelementen und betont so die absurde Komik der Geschichte. So schwebt Zauberin Alcina vom Himmel K\u00f6nigin Angelica zu Hilfe, im glitzernden silbrigen Kleid und exzessiv silbrig geschminkt. Zusammen mit dem bauschigen, rosaroten Kleid von Angelica f\u00fchlte man sich streckenweise fast in einen Disney-Film versetzt. Die absurde Komik erscheint auch in der Figurenzeichnung. So will Rodomonte die Liebenden besch\u00fctzen, erscheint zum Duell aber unter dem Gel\u00e4chter des Publikums mit einem Rollkoffer, aus dem die Hellebarden hervorragen. Diener Pasquale tr\u00e4gt unter seinem Brustpanzer ein oranges T-Shirt, dazu kurze Hosen und Converse-Schuhe. Statt seinem Herrn Orlando zu folgen, gibt er sich lieber dem Essen und Eurilla hin. Angelicas Liebhaber Medoro erscheint im t\u00fcrkisblauen Traineranzug und spr\u00fcht seine Liebeserkl\u00e4rung mittels Spraydose an einen Baum. Der Regisseur schreibt im Programmheft, er sehe in den Liebenden die selbstbezogenen P\u00e4rchen von heute. Im Kontrast zu den opulenten Farben steht die Heilungsszene in der Unterwelt, in der die Regie auf eine minimalistische B\u00fchne und das Spiel mit Schwarz und Weiss setzt.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hervorragende Ten\u00f6re<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Auch musikalisch ist die Oper reizvoll. Orlando (<strong>Carlos Natale<\/strong>) vermittelt mit seinem hellen, brillanten Tenor das Schwanken zwischen Liebesfreuden und obsessiver Eifersucht ber\u00fchrend. Ebenso <strong>Christos Kechris<\/strong> als Liebhaber Medoro, der mit einem kr\u00e4ftigen Tenor mit wenig Vibrato \u00fcberzeugt. Im Vergleich zu den beiden M\u00e4nnern f\u00e4llt insbesondere <strong>Rosaria Angotti<\/strong> als Angelica ab. Die Sopranistin setzt dermassen viel Vibrato ein, dass die Eindringlichkeit ihrer Emotionen verloren geht. Es ist bedauerlich, dass ihr Vibrato in Duett- und Ensembleszenen die anderen Stimmen streckenweise \u00fcberdeckt. Eurilla (<strong>Marie Lys<\/strong>) zeigt eine kr\u00e4ftige Stimme, der aber die musikalische Beweglichkeit abgeht.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.freiburger-nachrichten.ch\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/lead_image\/public\/images\/article\/lead_image\/78419.jpg?itok=KpRbUpa3\" width=\"409\" height=\"280\" \/><strong>Alberto Sousa<\/strong> setzt die Vorlage des ungehobelten Dieners Pasquale mit rauhen, nicht immer ganz reinen T\u00f6nen perfekt um. <strong>Anas Seguin<\/strong> verk\u00f6rpert Heidenk\u00f6nig Rodomonte mit dunkler Stimme, die gut zur Rolle passt. Zauberin Alcina (<strong>H\u00e9lo\u00efse Mas<\/strong>) zeigt die stimmliche W\u00e4rme, die ihren Ensemble\u00adkolleginnen fehlt. <strong>Ren\u00e9 Perler<\/strong>, der einzige Freiburger S\u00e4nger, spielt mit dem Vater von Dienerin Eurilla sowie dem Unterweltk\u00f6nig Caronte zwei Nebenrollen. Vor allem als Caronte verst\u00e4rkt sein tragender Bass den Eindruck der Unterweltszene.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Das Freiburger Kammerorchester unter der Leitung von <strong>Laurent Gendre<\/strong> spielt die Partitur mit viel Zug, was die Musik von Haydn gut zur Geltung bringt. Im dreissigk\u00f6pfigen Ensemble treten die tiefen Lagen besonders deutlich hervor, was f\u00fcr das Ohr einen angenehmen Klang erzeugt.
