“The Apaches of Athens” by Nikos Hatziapostolos needs no introduction. For both older and younger generations of viewers, the operetta by Nikos Hadziapostolou outlines perhaps the most popular ethnography of an entire era: images from the urban and popular Athens of the interwar period become the backdrop for the comic love adventures of an “apachi”, of a “city bum”, but also the occasion to write some of the most beloved songs of the genre. Vassilis Mavrogeorgiou signs the direction of the new Olympia production, guiding the steps of a multitude of excellent performers, who swirl delightfully in the wake of a Viennese musical feast.
