Deutsche Grammophon – New release

Countertenor Franco Fagipoli’s Deutsche Grammophon debut recital features a selection of Rossini arias. The first countertenor to sign exclusively to DG, Fagioli has chosen arias from a variety of “trouser roles”: male characters that were intended to be sung by female artists. For these virtuoso selections from Matilde di Shabran, Tancredi, Semiramide and many more operas, Fagioli is joined by Christos Kechris (tenor) and Petros Magoulas (bass) and George Petrou who leads Armonia Atenea.
